BIOGRAPHY

Known for her thoughtful artistry and musicianship,  Ana Vidovic’s extraordinary talents have established herself among the elite musicians of the world.   Her performances include recitals, concerto engagements and festival appearances in most of Europe’s major cultural destinations and renowned concert venues.  Her tours have also taken her to Australia, Brazil, Israel, Japan, Korea, Mexico and Spain.  Equally impressive is her recording career which includes a recent release by Octave Records, a live performance with works by Bach, Giuliani, Mangore, Scarlatti and Sor.

In addition to many Canadian cities,  Ana Vidovic has performed in recital at almost every major venue throughout the United States and her dazzling concerto performances have taken place with numerous regional symphony orchestras including those of Asheville,  Austin, Bangor (ME),  Elgin (IL), Erie, Flint (MI), Hartford, Illinois, Knoxville, Missoula, Reading (PA), Rogue Valley (OR), Iowa, West Virginia, Wheeling and Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra; and with the Slovene Orchestra, Zagreb Philharmonic, Hungarian Philharmonic and Orquesta de Valencia (Spain). North American festival appearances include Le Domaine Forget (Quebec), International Guitar Festival (London), Big Sky, Montana, Caramoor Festival (Katonah, NY), Colorado Music Festival, Lake Tahoe Summerfest and Ventura Music Festival (CA); and in Europe at Madrid International Guitar Festival, Mediterranean Guitar Festival (Barcelona), Festival Iberico Badajoz. New Ross Festival (Wexford, Ireland), and Drôme Guitar Festival (Valence, France). During the Covid-19 pandemic, many of Ms. Vidovic’s engagements were redesigned to perform at venues in live-stream concerts, including the 92nd St Y in NYC, Philadelphia and San Francisco.  

Ana Vidovic’s 2024-25 season included recitals at New York City’s 92nd Street Y, Herbst Theatre in San Francisco and Austin, TX.   Concerto engagements took place with the Elgin Symphony, Stockton Symphony (CA), SW Utah Symphony and Victoria Symphony (TX).   In Europe, Ms. Vidovic toured with Cuarteto Casals in France and Germany;  gave recitals in Split, Croatia; Bad Aibling and Hamburg, Germany; and Copenhagen.   She also performed in Paris with L’Orchestre de Opéra de Rouen Normandie.  She also performed at the Madrid International Guitar Festival,  Mediterranean Guitar Festival (Barcelona) and in Hersbruck, Germany in Summer, 2025 as well as stateside with the Kennett Symphony near Philadelphia, PA.   Highlights of the artist’s 2025-26 season include recitals at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw,  London Guitar Festival at King’s Place, Aachen, Germany and Philadelphia.

Ms. Vidovic has won an impressive number of prizes and international competitions including first prizes in the Albert Augustine International Competition in Bath, England, the Fernando Sor competition in Rome and the Francisco Tárrega competition in Spain. In Croatia, the guitarist has performed with Symphony Orchestra of the Croatian Radio and Television, as well as having been featured in three television documentaries by the eminent Croatian film director Petar Krelja.   Ana Vidovic comes from the small town of Karlovac near Zagreb, Croatia where she began playing guitar at age 5.   She became the youngest student at 13 to attend the prestigious National Musical Academy in Zagreb where she studied with Professor Istvan Romer. Ms. Vidovic’s reputation in Europe led to an invitation to study at the Peabody Conservatory from which she graduated.
